Northwest or "Far N'western" Ohio consists of the area known as the Great Black Swamp. 

Magee Marsh - Oak Harbor, Ohio

One of the best birding hotspots on the Lake Erie coast. Thousands of people flock to Magee Marsh in early May to watch as the birds migrate back to their summer grounds.

Oak Openings - Toledo, Ohio

A great example of an Oak Savanna Forest. This is a great place to explore and learn, while we only spent a short amount of time here, we will certainly be going back to explore more!

Goll Woods - Archbold, Ohio

One of the few remaining pockets of the Great Black Swamp that once covered this corner of Ohio. A beautiful old-growth forest surrounded by wetlands.
